WSL: Kenza Dali leaves Aston Villa to join San Diego Wave


Attacking midfielder Kenza Dali has left Aston Villa to United States club San Diego Wave on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 33-year-old was left out of Villa’s squad for their Women’s Super League draw with Everton last Saturday and confirmed her departure in a social media post, external the following day.

The France playmaker scored nine goals in 66 appearances for Villa since joining from Everton in 2022.

Villa have thanked Dali, external for her time at the club and said they “wish her all the best in her next chapter”.

San Diego Wave are managed by former Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall, who was named as Casey Stoney’s permanent replacement in January.

The National Women’s Soccer League season starts on 14 March.

Meanwhile, Villa play Manchester City in the WSL at 12:00 GMT on Saturday.
