The Perth Scorchers openers got off to a positive start, accumulating 35 runs inside four overs before the New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter went berserk in the majority of the innings. His fifty set up 124/4 in 15 overs before a ridiculous collision took center-stage, revolving around Sams and Bancroft.
Lockie Ferguson was summoned to get the better of in-form Cooper Connolly in the 16th over and the pacer bowled a fuller one at the legs on the over’s second ball.
