Twitter can’t get enough of Starc-Jaiswal ‘bail-switch’ banter

With Australia coming into the second session of the Boxing Day Test with their tails up, India needed their batters to show some resilience. In Rishabh Pant and Jaiswal the visitors found just that as the hosts struggled to break the partnership. Taking a leaf out of England’s playbook, Mitch Starc, in the 35th over, decided to swap the bails at the non stricker’s end. Stuart Broad had famously done it against Australia in the last Ashes and it had immediately resulted in a wicket.

Jaiswal, though, was having none of it as he walked across and switched them back. Following another Starc delivery, the Aussie had some words for the Indian opener who responded with, “I believe in myself, that is why I am here.” Starc not to be outdone responded with, “Then why change it back if you are not superstitious?”

It was Jaiswal though who had the last word as he came back with, “I am just enjoying this moment in my life.” Twitter was amused by the exchange and voiced out the same as soon as it happened.

A sweet little exchange
