Mandla (MP), Mar 25 (PTI) A tigress has been translocated to Kanha Tiger Reserve (KTR) of Madhya Pradesh from Satkosia in Odisha, a forest official stated on Thursday.
The large cat was launched right into a particular enclosure at Ghorela within the reserve on Wednesday night time, the official stated.
The tigress named Sundari together with a tiger had been despatched to Satkosia from Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve as a part of a rehabilitation programme in 2018, the official stated.
The tiger was allegedly killed by poachers in Odisha, whereas the tigress had killed two individuals within the japanese state, following which she was confined in an enclosure, the forest sources stated.
‘As a consequence of some undesirable incidents and for the security of individuals, Sundari was confined in an enclosure for the final two years. Later, the Nationwide Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) suspended the translocation programme and directed Odisha to return the tigress to Madhya Pradesh,’ KTR area director S Okay Singh stated.
