Vibin Mohanan, who played in the I-League for Indian Arrows for two consecutive seasons gets a chance in the Indian team. The midfielder got noticed by the new head coach and will be a part of the team for the friendly match against Malaysia on November 18.
Vibin Mohanan has been waiting for his national call for a long time and he has finally received an opportunity to play for the team. Although he received an opportunity to play in May 2024, but due to some personal reasons he was not able to be a part of the team.
However, his performances as the midfielder were able to impress the team’s coach Manolo Márquez, who has been newly appointed. Márquez has given a chance to Vibin Mohanan to play in the upcoming friendly match of India against Malaysia. His name has been submitted among the team of 25 players for the same.
In an interview, Vibin Mohanan said,“I feel so happy and excited. It’s been my childhood dream to be part of the senior national team and that’s happened now. Since the day the list was published, I have been excited about training and experiencing this environment. There’s excitement, pride and responsibility. Being selected to represent your country at the highest level is a huge honour.”
He has also been a part of Indian Arrows for two consecutive seasons of the I-League, playing the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons for the team.
