Samay Raina’s comedy show ‘Unfiltered,’ which was set to take place at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium, has been canceled amid the India’s Got Latent controversy. BookMyShow has assured all those who had bought tickets that they will be refunded. Both the shows of Samay Raina were sold-out.
A controversy broke out after comedian Ranveer Allahbadia who appeared on a episode of India’s Got Latent made some “controversial” and “inappropriate” remarks after which several complaints were filed against him and the other participants of the show that included Samay Raina.
During an appearance on ‘India’s Got Latent show’, the podcaster asked a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents…. or join in once and stop it forever?” The video soon went viral on the internet, with social media users slamming Ranveer Allahbadia for his offensive remarks.
On March 3, the Supreme Court issued a tough message to YouTubers and comedians Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia over the whole India’s Got Latent controversy, saying “behave, or else we know how to deal with you.”
The Supreme Court also blasted Samay Raina for discussing the controversy in Canada, saying the young generation thinks they are “over smart”.
“These young and over smart ones think they know more than this…One of them went to Canada and spoke about all this,” Justice Surya Kant said, adding, “Possibly, they do not know the jurisdiction which this court enjoys.”
Justice Surya Kant warned the Youtubers to “behave”.
During his Samay Raina Unfiltered tour in Canada, the comedian playfully told the audience, “Thanks for covering my lawyer’s fees,” and ended the show with, “Shayad samay kharab chal raha hai mera, par yaad rakhna doston, main samay hoon [Maybe my time is bad right now, but remember, my friends—I am time itself]”
