When a player is in good form and performing confidently, an untimely dismissal can be particularly frustrating. Rajasthan Royals’ captain Sanju Samson showed visible signs of disappointment during the match against Punjab Kings, reacting to his dismissal with evident frustration.
Losing the toss was a blessing in disguise for Rajasthan Royals as openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson got off to a flying start. The duo raced to 53/0 in the powerplay and carried the momentum forward, reaching 85/0 at the halfway stage. Both batters looked in commanding touch before Lockie Ferguson broke the partnership with a crucial wicket.
On the second ball of the 11th over, Ferguson delivered a full-length ball at the stumps, clocking 145 kmph. Samson attempted a lofted off-drive after clearing his front leg, but failed to get underneath the ball. The bat turned in his hands at the point of contact and resulted in a mistimed stroke that went flat and straight to mid-off. Punjab Kings skipper Shreyas Iyer made no mistake with the catch. Samson was visibly frustrated with the soft dismissal and reacted by flipping his bat in anger as he walked back. His fluent knock of 38 off 26 deliveries came to an abrupt end, and his outburst quickly sparked reactions across social media platforms.
