Odisha Govt Disbursed Rs 135 Cr To Migrant Returnees

Bhubaneswar: Odisha authorities reportedly disbursed a complete of Rs 134.62 crore to the migrants, who returned to Odisha and stayed in numerous quarantine centres throughout the State through the pandemic. This was knowledgeable by Labour Minister Susanta Singh on Tuesday.

Replying to a written query of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, the Minister knowledgeable the state meeting that the quantity has been supplied to six,73,079 migrants until August 2020.

Singh mentioned a complete of 10,07,330 migrants returned to Odisha from numerous states between March and October final 12 months.

Every migrant was supplied with Rs 2,000 incentive from the Chief Minister’s Reduction Fund after completion of their isolation interval, he added.

Apart from, particular Covid-19 monetary help was given to the migrant labours for his or her livelihood beneath numerous schemes initiated by the federal government.

The federal government can also be creating employment alternatives for them beneath numerous schemes and programmes.

This aside, following the approval of the state authorities, Odisha Constructing and Different Development Staff’ Welfare Board supplied Rs 1,500 particular monetary help every to 4,689 registered employees until August 2020.

Nevertheless, the Minister claimed that the division has no data on employees going to different states once more after leisure in Covid restrictions.
