Bhubaneswar: The State Cupboard on Tuesday accredited the State-level Sports activities Infrastructure Improvement Mission for improvement of sports activities infrastructure on the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar and the Worldwide Hockey Stadium, Rourkela.
Odisha is the host for the FIH Males’s Hockey World Cup-2023 with venues at Bhubaneswar and Rourkela. For this objective, a brand new Worldwide Hockey Stadium is meant to be developed at Rourkela with a seated capability of 20,000 spectators. This would be the largest hockey stadium in India.
The State Authorities has established Excessive Efficiency Centres (HPCs) in varied sports activities disciplines at Kalinga Stadium in partnership with varied corporates and elite sports activities individuals. The infrastructure for these HPCs is the duty of the State Authorities. To be able to cater to the requirement of the HPCs and different sports activities disciplines, growth and up-gradation of the infrastructure services at Kalinga Stadium may also be made.
Out of the full estimated price Rs 356.38 crore, Rs 90 crore will likely be allotted by means of budgetary allocation of State Authorities, spreading throughout three monetary years ranging from 2020-21.
The remaining quantity is to be funded by means of Company Social Duty (CSR), District Mineral Basis, Sundargarh and Odisha Sports activities Improvement Fund (OSDF). The challenge will likely be accomplished in 16 (sixteen) months time.
