The central authorities has taken up redevelopment of the New Delhi railway station on Public-Personal Partnership mode at an estimated price of ₹5,000 crore, Union Piyush Goyal stated within the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
A Request for Qualification (RFQ) for the undertaking was opened on 2 February.
“The services proposed embrace congestion-free non-conflicting entry/exit to the station premises, segregation of arrival/departure of passengers, enough concourse space with out overcrowding, integration of each side of the town, integration with different modes of transport methods e.g. bus, metro, and so forth., user-friendly worldwide signage, nicely illuminated circulating space and adequate provision for drop off, choose up and parking,” the railway ministry stated in a press release.

The New Delhi station is linked to the IGI Airport by way of the Airport Categorical Line Metro and with Delhi NCR through Yellow Line of Delhi Metro. DTC bus stops lie on each side of the station.
