Bhubaneswar, Mar 30 (IANS): The Odisha authorities on Tuesday knowledgeable that the metro prepare service will not be possible within the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack until 2041.
Replying to a query of Congress MLA Suresh Routray, Housing and City Growth Minister Pratap Jena knowledgeable the state Meeting that at the moment, there is no such thing as a such proposal concerning metro rail service within the twin cities.
The Minister mentioned a Hyderabad-based firm – M/s Balaji Railroad Methods Ltd (BARSYL) – had been entrusted with the duty of survey for the mission.
The corporate had carried out the survey and located no feasibility for the mission, he mentioned.
Jena knowledgeable that the metro service will not be possible on the premise of inhabitants.
The state authorities had paid Rs 52 lakh to the non-public agency for the survey whereas it acquired Rs 12.61 lakh from the Centre, Jena mentioned.
The minister mentioned the state authorities had additionally given a proposal to increase the metro rail service until Khurda and Jatani.
The federal government will increase the demand for an additional survey for metro rail service from Cuttack to Chandikhole and Bhubaneswar to Puri.
Notably, metro prepare is appropriate for cities with round 25 to 30 lakh inhabitants. In line with the 2011 census report, the inhabitants of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have been estimated at 8.37 lakh and 6.06 lakh respectively. Nevertheless, there may be progress through the years.
