The heartwarming gesture is from Ludhiana, Punjab, where a Muslim family followed the cherished Indian tradition of dressing up their child as Lord Krishna for Janmashtami.

Krishna Janmashtami was joyfully celebrated across India on Monday, August 26 and the festivities were marked by various Dahi Handi events and other traditional rituals. One of the most awaited traditions for Hindu devotees on the auspicious day is dressing up their children as Lord Krishna and Radha. One can easily spot baby boys dressed as Lord Krishna and little girls dressed as Radha on the day.

However, while they all look adorable and beautiful, dressed as deities, one particular video of a little boy dressed as Krishna has captured everyone’s attention online. The now-viral video is that of a Muslim boy dressed as Lord Krishna to honour the Hindu festival, which has touched the hearts of many on social media.

This heartwarming gesture is from Ludhiana, Punjab, where a Muslim family followed the cherished Indian tradition of dressing up their child as Lord Krishna for Janmashtami. The video shows the family leaving their home, riding a two-wheeler, with their child dressed as Krishna.

“A Muslim family dresses up their kid as Krishna for Janmashtami,” reads the caption.

This wasn’t the first time such an event occurred and people praised the sense of unity in India. A similar video went viral during Janmashtami celebrations a couple of years ago.

In the clip, a young boy, Faiz, was seen posing for photos in a traditional outfit at the request of a stranger. He wore a yellow embroidered kurta over yellow dhoti pants, complemented by gold accessories, to celebrate Krishna Janmashtami 2022. Accompanied by his mother on the way to school, the video was shared by X (formerly Twitter) user, who captioned it, “Our country (heart emoji).”
