Ten years on from their wonderful ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 victory, India’s heroes celebrated on social media.
Opening batsman Virender Sehwag hailed their win over Sri Lanka within the closing as “the second of a lifetime” on Twitter whereas spinner Harbhajan Singh tweeted that it was the day “all Indians turned the world champions”.
Sachin Tendulkar, who was India’s high run-scorer on the match, wished his teammates nicely and handed on the unhappy information that he was in hospital “as a matter of plentiful precaution underneath medical recommendation” after being identified with COVID-19. In a touching second, Pakistan nice Wasim Akram inspired him to “hit COVID-19 for a SIX!”
