‌IND vs AUS | Two-day game extended to 50-over-per side due to incessant rain

The two-day practice match scheduled between India and Australia has been washed out on the opening day due to persistent rain at the Manuka Oval, Canberra. This was the only pink ball practice outing scheduled for the visitors and they’ll have to walk out for a 50-over per side encounter on Sunday.

Incessant rain since the morning caused a delay in the toss between India and Australia’s Prime Minister’s XI. However, the delay was prolonged with the rain gods showing no mercy to the visitors that filled the venue partially. Although it did stop for a brief period in the evening, the covers stayed on from 10 AM to 5:30 PM local time. Quite lately in the evening, the showers stopped causing the groundsmen to gather and peel off the cover only to see the pouring back at 7:00 PM Local Time.

With the first day’s game being called off for the opening day, a 50-over-per-side encounter will take place from 9:10 AM IST at the venue. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, who missed out on the first Test due to their respective reasons, will be getting their first test of Aussie conditions in the upcoming match.
