From pv magazine India.
A joint analysis by KPMG and the Confederation of Indian Trade (CII) expects India to see a gradual, phased adoption of electric vehicles. The market penetration would be the quickest within the three-wheeler (3W) section, adopted by electric buses, two-wheelers after which passenger taxis.
The report expects electrical autos to account for 65-75% of latest gross sales within the three-wheeler (3W) section and 25-35% in two-wheeler (2W) in 2030.
Intra-city transport buses will see 25-40% penetration.
Nevertheless, the adoption in passenger 4W section will lag, with 10-15% penetration in private vehicles and 20-30% within the industrial section (electrical autos for shared transport, together with by taxi aggregators reminiscent of Ola and Uber).
