Bhubaneshwar (Odisha) [India], February 11 (ANI): Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on Wednesday issued a Provisional Attachment Order beneath the provisions of the Prevention of Cash Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA) attaching movable and immovable properties value Rs 128.86 Crores within the case of Micro Finance Group of Companies and others.
In accordance with an official assertion of ED, the company had initiated the investigation on the premise of an FIR registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation, SPE, SCB, Kolkata in opposition to Micro Finance Ltd. and others in pursuance of an order of Supreme Courtroom of India, whereby the Courtroom has directed inter alia that the investigation of chit fund circumstances registered in several police stations within the State of Odisha be transferred from the State Police Company to the CBI.
“Micro Finance Restricted was one among the many 44 circumstances said within the Order of the Supreme Courtroom of India. Subsequently, charge-sheet within the case was filed by CBI, Bhubaneswar,” it said.
ED mentioned the investigation performed on this case revealed that a large quantity of proceeds of crime have been laundered on this case.
“Accordingly, a Provisional Attachment Order was issued, attaching immovable and movable properties value Rs 128.86 Crores belonging to Micro Group of corporations and others (together with Kamat Resorts (India) Ltd., Prasanta Kumar Acharya, Ex-Director in Ayush Hospital and Trauma Care Pvt. Ltd., Bhubaneswar).”
Earlier, in 2019, ED had issued a Provisional Attachment order attaching movable properties within the type of financial institution balances value Rs 88.99 Crores.
The company mentioned additional investigation into the case is underway. (ANI)
