Kevin Dickie is stepping down as athletic director at Acadia College.
The 56-year-old, initially from Shaunavon, Sask., has been on the helm of govt director of Acadia Athletics for the previous 10 years.
“I come to work each day with a workers and coaches which can be such nice folks and associates,” Dickie stated in a information launch. “After which to say hello or speak day by day with our student-athletes, that has stored me younger. Throughout his tenue, Acadia has hosted 4 consecutive U Sports activities nationwide championships and captured 11 Atlantic college championship titles.
In 2019, the varsity boasted its highest variety of educational all-Canadians (122). Over the previous decade, Acadia’s educational achievements included 4 U Sports activities BLG nominees, two AUS James Bayer Award winners and 4 consecutive U Sports activities Prime 8 Tutorial All-Canadians.
Dickie first arrived in Wolfville in 1997 as head coach of the Acadia Axemen hockey program. Throughout his three seasons at Acadia, he led the Axemen to a few consecutive Atlantic college hockey convention finals and a silver medal on the 1998 nationwide championship.
He was athletic director on the College of New Brunswick for six years earlier than returning to Acadia to take the AD job there.
Dickie will step down from his position following the U Sports activities annual basic assembly this June.
