David Moyes has returned to Everton, aiming to keep the club in the English Premier League. The 61-year-old, who managed Everton from 2002 to 2013, faces a tough task with the team just one point above relegation. Under new ownership by the Friedkin Group, Everton eyes stability ahead of moving to a new 53,000-capacity stadium next season.

Ahead of the second leg of the England Premier League, David Moyes has returned to Everton as manager, determined to steer the club away from relegation and extend their 71-year presence in top-flight football. Moyes, who previously managed Everton from 2002 to 2013, achieved notable success, including a fourth-place Premier League finish in 2005 and an FA Cup final appearance in 2009.

However, Everton now sits perilously close to the relegation zone, just one point above the bottom three, as they prepare to face Aston Villa on Wednesday. The club’s new American owners, the Friedkin Group, recently dismissed Sean Dyche, pinning their hopes on Moyes to stabilize the team before their move to a new 53,000-seat stadium next season. He said:

“They want to get us back on track and we all know we need a bit of a sticking plaster at the moment and we have to try to make that work. A couple of weeks (ago) I didn’t think there was any chance Everton could be in a relegation fight, I thought they would be strong enough to get out of it. I’ve come into the seat and I’m going to back that and say I believe we will be strong enough to stay away from it (relegation). But I’m not kidding myself or anyone else, we need everyone behind us, we need the players playing better, and scoring more goals, if we are going to make that happen.”

Moyes expressed optimism about Everton’s survival, emphasizing teamwork and improved performances. With a track record of rebuilding teams, as seen during his tenure at West Ham, Moyes believes he can replicate success and reignite Everton’s campaign in the Premier League.
