COLUMBIA, Mo. — Three-time NCAA nationwide champion and 2016 Olympic bronze medalist J’den Cox would be the highest ranked competitor of 4 current and former Mizzou wrestlers on the Males’s Freestyle Worlds Group Trials in Lincoln, Neb.
The boys will tackle different American wrestlers to find out who qualifies for Group USA and journey to Norway for the 2021 World Championships.
Cox (2014-17) is the No. 1 seed within the 92 kg weight class. He’s joined by alum and present volunteer assistant Dom Bradley (2009-13), who will wrestle because the No. 3 seed at 125 kg.
Becoming a member of the 2 former Tigers can be juniors Brock Mauller and Jarrett Jacques. The 2 will each wrestle at 70 kg because the No. 9 and No. 10 seeds, respectively. Mauller is coming off his third All-American season in Columbia the place he completed fifth on the NCAA Championships in St. Louis.
Jacques was a 2021 NCAA qualifier at 157 kilos. He completed his 2020-21 season with a 3-2 report on the nationwide match.
“We’re excited to observe each our current and former wrestlers face off towards among the greatest competitors the US has to supply,” head coach Brian Smith mentioned. “Brock and Jarrett have labored arduous to get up to now of their athletic careers and I am wanting ahead to see them exit and present what they’ve.”
The competitors can be streamed on FloWrestling starting at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 11-12.
