Celtic Secures Kasper Schmeichel’s Future with Extended Contract

Celtic extends the contract of their goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel till Summer 2026, during the January Transfer Window. He has played a crucial role for the team, due to and they are not willing to let him go.

During the January Transfer Window, Kasper Schmeichel was among the target lists of various teams but Celtic has extended his contract till 2026, which also shows the commitment of the player to the team. Ever since the Danish international goalkeeper joined the team in 2024, his performances have been impressive.

Schmeichel was able to play a crucial role in both domestic and in Europe, being a main player for the team. For Brendan Rodgers, he has been in the starting 11 for all the 34 matches played by Celtic in this campaign. He has also lifted a trophy with the team, playing an important role in the penalty shootout victory over Rangers in the finals of the League Cup.

Kasper Schmeichel said,“I am really happy to extend my contract with the club. I have had a great welcome and have loved every minute so far at Celtic and I am really looking forward to the next period at such a great football club.”

Brendan Rodgers also talked about the contract extension during the transfer window, saying, “I am really pleased that Kasper will be staying with us. He has already made a great impact on the club, on and off the pitch, and his quality and experience been crucial for us.”
