Instead, sporting director Deco is working on a plan to secure Diaz, who is priced between €70m-€75m (£59m-£63m) and is reportedly eager to join Barcelona, fulfilling a childhood dream.
Barcelona’s financial situation has improved compared to last summer, but they still need to generate funds through player sales. Midfielder Pedri is deemed untouchable, but the club is open to selling Gavi, Frenkie de Jong, Eric Garcia, Andreas Christensen, and even Ronald Araujo if he requests a move.
