Barcelona drops off their potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski, as Jonathan David makes dream club remarks. The team is currently facing financial issues, as they are also eye for a replacement for Lewandowski in the long-term.
Barcelona has been looking forward to the possible long-term replacements for Robert Lewandowski, as his time with the team and the game is expected to come to an end soon. For this, the team earlier had an interest in the LOSC Lille striker Jonathan David, but it has also been dropped according to some reports.
There were four players who were named by the team as possible successors for Robert Lewandowski: Jonathan David, Erling Haaland, Alexander Isak, and Viktor Gyokeres. But recently Jonathan David has been dropped off from the list as Hansi Flick is not convinced whether he could be able to possibly become the replacement or not.
In the upcoming summer, David’s contract with Lille is coming to an end, and he has scored 101 goals and 23 assists for the team in 209 matches. Along with that, he was signed in the 2021 summer at a deal of €27 million.
Jonathan David also expressed his views on playing for Barcelona, as he said,“(Barcelona) was always the team I grew up supporting. When you grow up supporting a club, it’s a dream to play for them.”However, the team is currently facing some financial issues, which could be causing hindrances if they want to sign David as the possible replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
