After a desirable opening day, overnight batters Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne kicked off the next day on a watchful note against the Indian pacers. However, the former’s stay shortlived, courtesy of a Bumrah corker in the morning spell. With Steve SMith joining Marnus for the third wicket, they aimed to built a strong partnership but the Indian spearhead had other plans dismissing the former Aussie skipper for a low score.

The first ball of the 41st over saw Bumrah come over the wicket and bowl a good length delivery down the leg stump line. Smith shuffled across the line to flick but ended up getting a nick on the inside edge en route to the keeper. Rishabh Pant, behind the stumps dived to his left and grabbed the ball firmly to send Smith back to the hut. The Aussie batter, who s currently undergoing a rough patch, was seen distraught and the Twitterverse thought he was almost in tears.
