On the back of Travis Head’s dynamic 140 and Marnus Labuschagne’s gritty fifty, Australia posted 337 runs on the board, earning a lead of 157 runs. In response, India lost KL Rahul early before Shubman Gill joined Yashasvi Jaiswal in the middle against the pink rock under floodlights. As the pair tried to shift the balance to the Indian side, a running between the wicket mishap trembled Gill for some moment.
The first ball of the sixth over saw Pat Cummins come over the wicket and bowl a fuller than a length delivery at the leg peg. Gill called for a run after clipping it towards square leg but Jaiswal from the non-striker’s end yelled ‘no’ after leaving the crease.
