New Delhi: Ministry of Meals Processing Industries (MoFPI) has been implementing the Scheme for Creation of Infrastructure for Agro Processing Clusters (APC) underneath the Umbrella Scheme Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) to incentivize establishing of agro processing clusters within the nation. Beneath the Scheme, processing/preservation infrastructure like chilly storage, pre-cooling chambers, ripening chambers, IQF, specialised packaging, Meals testing laboratory, cleansing/ grading/sorting and packing amenities, steam technology boilers, warehouses and many others. are being created as a part of cluster strategy to be used of meals processing items to be / being arrange underneath these tasks. The Scheme envisages grants-in-aid @35% of eligible undertaking value usually areas and @50% of eligible undertaking value within the North East States (together with Sikkim) and tough areas particularly Himalayan States/UTs (i.e. Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and Uttarakhand), State notified ITDP areas, Islands and SC/ST entrepreneurs topic to max. of Rs. 10.00 crore per undertaking. Until date Ministry has accredited 56 tasks underneath the scheme.
Additional, MoFPI has been implementing a separate scheme for growth of Mega Meals Parks (MFPs). To this point, MoFPI has sanctioned 37 MFPs and given in-principle approval for two MFPs within the nation.
In Bihar, MoFPI has accredited one undertaking in Begusarai district of Bihar underneath APC scheme and one undertaking in Khagadia district of Bihar underneath MFP scheme. Nevertheless, no agro processing cluster or mega meals park undertaking has been accredited by this Ministry in West Champaran and Aurangabad districts of Bihar.
