Leah Williamson talks about her performances in the last few years, as she regains form for Arsenal and England Lionesses. She made a return to the field in January 2024, recovering from the ACL injury.
Arsenal Women’s team defender Leah Williamson had a remarkable journey this year, which has been possible after her return from an ACL injury. She marked her comeback to the field in January 2024, towards the second half of the 2023-24 season. However, she was not able to perform well and find the rhythm in the initial games.
Various fans expected Leah Williamson to showcase some great performances in the 2024-25 season, which also didn’t seem possible due to a rough start for her. Further, Leah received criticism from the fans after the loss of Arsenal against Chelsea, and England Lionesses against Germany.
However, Leah Williamson marked an exceptional comeback after the October International break, as her performances helped the team in club and international competitions. When she made her 50th appearance for England Lionesses, she was able to perform well, helping the team to beat South Africa by 2-1.
Williamson even achieved more milestones, as she played her 150th match for Arsenal in the NLD clash, where she also grabbed her 100th win for the team. Talking about her 50 appearances for England Lionesses, she said,“It’s lovely to have reached it; of course it’s something I’m proud of. But what people don’t always see is that it’s also taken a lot to get there.”
