Cameron Menzies reached the quarter-finals of the Grand Slam of Darts after a thrilling 10-9 victory over James Wade.
The 35-year-old took the early initiative but Wade rallied to take a 7-5 lead only for Menzies to get back on terms as the match went to a deciding leg.
Menzies twice missed a chance to win it on double top but Wade was unable to check out 98 and the Scot closed it out at the third time of asking.
“I am ecstatic. I’m going to have to phone in sick on Thursday,” joked Menzies, who also works as a plumber, on Sky Sports.
“I think I’m carrying a bit of luck for the first time in my life. I was just praying to things I didn’t know existed.”
Menzies will face Mickey Mansell after he clinched a 10-7 win over Danny Noppert.
Elsewhere, Rob Cross progressed to the last eight with a 10-4 win over Ritchie Edhouse.
Cross will face Martin Lukeman, who booked his spot with a 10-5 win over Ross Smith.
