After a commanding victory in the first ODI, Harmanpreet Kaur’s squad took to the field again, this time asked to bowl first by New Zealand skipper Sophie Devine. Openers Suzie Bates and Georgia Plimmer started solidly, guiding the White Ferns to 46/0 in the first 10 overs. With the pitch showing signs of spin, Deepti Sharma was reintroduced in the 16th over, quickly breaking the visitors’ opening stand thanks to an outstanding catch by Radha Yadav.
On the third delivery of the 16th over, Sharma bowled a fuller, tossed-up ball outside off stump. Plimmer tried to flick it to the on-side but mistimed her shot, sending it off the thick inside edge toward mid-wicket. Positioned nearby, Radha Yadav sprinted right from short mid-wicket, diving to complete a stunning two-handed catch as the ball seemed destined to drop safely. Lying on the ground after her incredible grab, Yadav celebrated with her teammates who joined her to mark the breakthrough that lit up the Indian field.
