Senior management will likely be key for an Ash Grove softball group that returns six gamers from the 2019 squad.
“We expect our seniors to guide us on and off the sector,” Ash Grove head coach Pam Swift stated. “Seniors embody Briley Bagley (INF/OF). Briley is a multi-sport athlete that may play 9 positions on the sector. Briley seemingly will assist strengthen our outfield this season and provides plenty of pace to the bases. Emma Eagleburger (INF) is one other a number of sport athlete that hits for energy and has two years’ expertise at first base. Alexis Lengthy (OF) is a tough working utility participant that’s anticipated to contribute along with her bat and glove. Mackenzie Lutz (INF) has two years’ expertise within the infield and can assist strengthen the lineup.”
Eagleburger earned all-district honors in 2019 after she hit .350 for the season. Bagley returns after main the group in stolen bases with 20 in 2019.
Junior Maddie Mobley returns to the circle after being answerable for a lot of the innings as a freshman. She accounted for 110 of 133 innings pitched two years in the past. Freshman Meagan Hawkins will even share innings within the circle.

“The energy of this group will lie within the depth of our gamers. We expect to see plenty of competitors for beginning spots. Lots of our younger gamers carry plenty of expertise to the sector,” Swift stated. “With a view to succeed this group might want to study to work collectively rapidly and settle for their roles inside the group. Highschool seasons are so quick we gained’t have any time to waste.”
Ash Grove opens the season on Mar. 22 at Verona.
“My expectations are very excessive for this season,” Swift stated. “We must always have many alternatives to succeed and revel in a profitable season.”
